Optimal charging of the supply batteries during the journey with 30A designed for yachts, boats, special vehicles, camping, caravan, expedition
While driving, the charge converter (booster) of the VCC series is used for optimal charging of the living area/supply battery (BORD battery). 4 adjustable IU1oU2 charging programs for classic lead-acid, gel, AGM as well as modern lithium LiFePO4 batteries ensure a monitoring-free, rapid and gentle full charge from any state of charge with subsequent full maintenance.

The charge converter draws its energy from the vehicle starter circuit (alternator with STARTER battery). There is no intervention in the starter circuit itself; the device merely acts as a powerful consumer on the alternator. At the same time, the automatic power control ensures the necessary safety and starting ability of the vehicle. In modern EURO-Norm 6, 6 + plus vehicles with energy-saving, intelligent alternators, their voltage fluctuates considerably (12.6 V ... 15.5 V) depending on the driving condition. The charge converter now fully compensates for these fluctuations for the uniform charging of the on-board battery and to protect the 12 V consumers connected there.

Even with conventional alternators and long connecting cables, much shorter charging times and fully charged batteries can be achieved due to the higher charging currents now possible.

Product advantages:

- Built-in 12V / 0 ... 1 A recharge branch, ensures charging/charge maintenance of the 12 V STARTER battery during long idle periods. It activates automatically when the BORD battery is externally charged by a mains charger.

Other device features:

- The charging voltage is free from peaks and regulated to prevent overcharging of the batteries.
- Fully automatic operation: the device is constantly connected to the batteries and is automatically activated by the running alternator of the vehicle. When the engine is not running, the batteries are not discharged.
- Charging aid for deeply discharged lead or disconnected LiFePO4 batteries: Gentle pre-charging of the (lead-acid, -gel, -AGM) battery or automatic reactivation of the Li battery with any consumers still switched on.
- Parallel and buffer operation: In case of simultaneous consumption, the battery is further charged or kept full. The device automatically calculates and monitors the adjustment of the charging times.
- Monitoring-free charging: Multiple protection against overload, overheating, overvoltage, short-circuit, malfunction and battery back-discharge by electronic cut-off up to disconnection of device and battery.
- Built-in on-board filter: Problem-free parallel operation with other charging sources (EBL, chargers, motor and fuel generators, solar systems) on one battery.
- Charging cable compensation: Voltage losses on the charging cables are automatically compensated.
- Connection for battery temperature sensor (sensor 825 included): For lead-acid batteries (acid, gel, AGM), the charging voltage is automatically adapted to the battery temperature, resulting in better full charging of the weaker battery in cold weather, and avoiding unnecessary battery gassing and loading in summer temperatures. LiFePO4 batteries: Battery protection at high and especially adapted charging at low temperatures below 0 °C.

The charge converters are also characterized by their compact design, low weight (high-frequency switching transformer, switch mode technology) and power components with strong dimensions. 2 operating displays provide information about the operating status of the device and the charge status of the battery. The connection of a LED remote control or a LDC monitor is provided ready to plug in and can be easily realized, see optional accessories.

Adjustable battery types: There are 4 charging programs for the different battery types stored in the device, selectable via 2 slide switches on the device.

- Lead-acid batteries (open or closed) and AGM-1: 14,4V / 13,5 / 2-6h
- GEL batteries: 14.4V / 13.8 / 6-12h
- AGM-2 and lead crystal batteries: 14.7V / 13.6 / 1.5-5h
- LiFePO4 batteries: 14.4V / 13.8 / 0.3-1h

Other settings and functions:

Charging branch for 12V starter battery
There is a charging branch in the device, which can provide support charging and charge maintenance of the 12V START battery during long periods of standing. It is activated automatically when the BORD battery is sufficiently charged, e.g. by a mains charger (see technical data for the charger branch). A small part of the charger current (approx. 0 - 1 A) is diverted from the BORD battery to the STARTER battery.

Charging voltage and current are reduced so that overcharging of the STARTER battery is excluded.

2 operating modes for automatic ON / OFF control of the unit are possible:

- Connect terminal D+ or terminal 15 (ignition): Activation of the charge converter by control signal D+ or terminal 15from the vehicle Especially recommended for EuroNorm 6 and 6+.
- For special applications voltage controlled from the increased starter battery voltage at engine run (not suitable for EURO 6 vehicles!)

Option: Parallel connection of two charge converters:
To increase the charging power with large battery groups or high loads (e.g. air conditioning operation with the lower power units), two identical units can also be connected in parallel.

The system is installed completely autonomously in the vehicle. So it has no effect on the car system.

We offer this combination with Optima Yellow Top battery and LCD battery computer. Gladly and on special needs, we can also offer other individual charging options. In our opinion, this combination is the best choice and is usually sufficient for all applications.
