Slim and lightweight design:
The flexible panel simply mounts on the hood of your Land Rover Discovery and - without having to start the engine - provides eco-friendly power to charge 12v devices such as refrigerators, laptops, cell phones, cameras, radios, lights, etc. By attaching this custom solar panel directly to your hood, no additional roof rack or the like is needed for mounting. The complete plug-and-play system is easy to install. Unlike a portable solar panel, you don't have to set it up or stow it in your vehicle, which could waste valuable cargo space.

FEATURES:
The solar module is made of PERC technology monocrystalline solar cells, which have much higher efficiency and more durability than other mono solar cells. The extremely high quality ETFE film features excellent light transmission and weather resistance, and is also resistant to heat, corrosion and UV. ETFE has self-cleaning properties that ensure the best performance day after day.
The panels have a durable fiberglass substrate backsheet that provides better heat dissipation than PET backsheets. ETFE film and fiberglass backsheet withstand extreme environmental conditions and are maintenance free for years.
With a thickness of only 3mm, the solar panel is powerful, waterproof, and ultra-lightweight (60% less than traditional solar panels). You transport 110 watts of energy from solar modules only 3 mm thick on the hood of your Land Rover Discovery, which does not affect the aerodynamics of the vehicle in any way, and the weight of the solar system is also negligible. Rough environmental conditions such as sun, rain, snow, ice, mud, falling rocks, branches, etc. are easily withstood by our panels, making them perfect for off-road vehicles.

Optional Plug-and-Play MPPT Solar Charge Controller: This waterproof device mounts in the engine compartment and is highly resistant to heat and vibration. The controller automatically controls how much current reaches the battery and prevents overcharging. The charge controller is pre-wired with fuses, terminals and connectors to eliminate unnecessary guesswork when setting up the system in advance (not included - please order separately if desired).

The optional, but highly recommended, custom protective film guards protect the underlying vehicle paint from damage and make it possible to remove the system from the hood without leaving any residue if necessary.

Factory-like appearance: The flexible solar panels fit the contours and edges of the Discovery's hood perfectly for a seamless and elegant aesthetic.

MOUNTING:
In order to avoid damaging the paint on the hood, we recommend combining the solar panels with the vehicle-specific protective films, which are applied under the panels. The film is applied to the hood of your vehicle in the same way as conventional hood films or car film stickers. The film acts as a moisture and dirt barrier to protect the paint underneath. Below, it is advisable to attach each panel to the vinyl film with 3M acrylic foam tape.

Note: The installation of the "ORYX" flexible hood solar panel system takes approximately 1.5 hours and must be done in a dry environment and at a temperature between 18° and 35°C. In cold temperatures, the solar panel will not be flexible enough to fit your hood and the adhesive will not adhere properly.
