Long Ranger Auxiliary Tank Discovery 3 & 4

The extra fuel tank for the Land Rover Discovery 3 and Land Rover Discovery 4 from the expert for extra fuel tanks, the Australian company Out of Town 4WD. It is mounted instead of the spare wheel and has a volume of 82.5 litres for vehicles from 2007 onwards. For tanks for older vehicles, BJ. 2004 to approx. mid-2007, the tank holds approx. 104 litres. No more carrying lots of spare canisters on the roof or in the vehicle interior, no more annoying refuelling of the canisters and decanting into the main tank and no more problems when crossing the border because of too many filled canisters.

The additional tank is filled via a second filler neck located behind the standard fuel filler flap. For this purpose, the original filler neck is exchanged for the supplied double neck. The fuel is pumped from the auxiliary tank into the main tank via a pump switch. A small display informs about the filling level of the additional tank.

The tank is made of 2 mm thick aluminium-coated steel, weighs about 38 kg and holds about 104 litres.

All in all, a well thought-out and perfect solution. Our favourite, because there is no better alternative on the market. It has the largest volume, a pump that doesn't break right away when it runs dry, a fill level indicator and separate filler necks. Everything you need is included in the delivery: Filler neck, pump, switch and level indicator. This saves the search for suitable accessories.

We recommend mounting the spare tank on a carrier on the rear bumper, e.g. in conjunction with the Kaymar rear bumper or on a roof rack, e.g. from Prospeed or LionParts.

The additional tank must be approved by the TÜV and entered in the vehicle documents.

Please state the year of manufacture of your car when ordering.

Attention rust: The tanks come from South Africa. There is no road salt and hardly any rust! You have to maintain the parts here daily, in winter, or coat them in advance. Extra coatings from approx. 250 Euro.
