G4 winch attachment kit incl. Warn winch 9.5XP

The original from Land Rover. The beauty of it is that it does not require registration in Germany. The G4 kit is already registered in the KBA list for these vehicles. So this is the only approved way of fitting a winch that sticks out to the front.

In my opinion the most beautiful way of mounting a winch on the Land Rover Discovery 4.

Advantage: The winch is always accessible and can be operated and maintained quickly. With concealed winches it is often the case that the idle lever cannot be operated, which means that the cable must always be unwound under power. This can quickly kill the battery if the engine is not running. Cleaning, which can considerably extend the life of a winch, is also much easier if the winch is not covered.

Disadvantage: The attachment kit is only available with the expensive Warn winch 9.5xp. In addition, the total price is somewhat higher.

Land Rover offers two versions of the front guard. One for vehicles without and one version for vehicles with winch. The only difference between them is that there are two notches for the support brackets of the winch mount. If a front guard is already fitted, it can be adapted. The purchase of a new front guard is not necessary.
