Discovery 4, 3.0L GEN 2 engine block - LongBlock improved

For many years now, we have been concerned with the problem with the diesel engines of the Land Rover Discovery from the 2004-2017 model years.

Since we get more and more inquiries about the engines in addition to the complete repairs, we now offer here a so-called LongBlock. The engines have reinforced crankshafts, a better oil flow and should for the most part, the factory problems have been eliminated. They are specially assembled for us.

The Longblock is an open engine. The blocks are spread out and fitted. Heads, connecting rods, Cylinder, pumps, timing belts are new.

This already includes the return of the old engine from us to the manufacturer in the UK. Because of the customs and the sales tax - calculation we must send back the old engines.

In addition, a deposit of 1,100 euros is due for the old hull engine. You can save the deposit if we receive the old engine before delivery of the new one.

A new hand-built engine, how do you start it for the first time?

It's simple and typical for new engines: to be careful, it is advisable to remove the crankshaft sensor plug to turn the engine with the starter motor without starting it.
This fills the oil line with oil. Then start the engine and let it rev up a little. Maximum 1,500 revolutions. Let it idle for a few minutes. Then drive about 30 km, first oil change, to flush out the metal residues remaining there after machining.
Drive the next 1000 km as normal and carry out a second oil change.
Change the oil every 10,000 km. Then you will enjoy your new engine for a long time.
