Skid plate / front guard Discovery 3 / 4 LionParts

The skid plate or sump guard from LionParts replaces the sensitive plastic part in the bumper and protects against impacts, e.g. when driving fast on paths with deep ruts or on rocky tracks.

The front guard is extended further back than the front guard from Rasta and other manufacturers, for example, and therefore also protects parts of the engine without the need to install an additional engine guard. It is also wider than its Land Rover/Mantec counterpart and covers the entire middle section of the bumper plus the corners. The upper slots also ensure that the oil cooler of the automatic transmission can receive a good flow of air.

Tip: Make sure that not too much soil, mud or sand is deposited in front of the intercooler and clean this area if necessary. However, this is easily possible due to the relatively large openings.

Even with the front skid plate fitted, the towing eye remains fully usable.

And even if you don't want to go off-road at all, you can enhance the off-road look of your Discoverys with a LionParts front skid plate.

Material: The sturdy front skid plate is made of 8 mm aluminum. Very light, yet extremely stable.
