T-Max tree anchor strap, 3m, 12T, green

A tree anchor strap is usually used to attach a winch cable to a tree. For this purpose, the belt is placed around the tree and the two loops are hooked into the winch rope. Of course, the tree anchor strap can also be used as a recovery strap for towing or freeing. The name Tree Trunk Protector is simply a reference to the length of the harness and its intended use.

Under no circumstances should the rope of a winch be placed directly around the tree and hooked into itself with the hook. A steel cable would cut into the tree and at the hook the cable would buckle and be damaged. Even with a synthetic rope, the kink at the hook would result in a significant reduction in breaking load. Rubbing against the tree while tightening could damage individual fibers of the plastic rope.

T-MAX tree anchor straps are made of nylon. Both ends are folded, reinforced and protected with an additional cover. A sliding sleeve serves as additional protection and should fit the tree trunk.

Depending on the size of the rope hook, it is easier to securely attach the tree anchor strap to the hook using an additional shackle, especially for ATV winches.
