Today's cars are equipped with ever larger tyres and complicated suspension systems that drastically reduce wheel well clearance, limiting the use of standard snow chains.
One of the most common restrictions on clearance concerns the inner part of the wheel arch and is characterised by the lack of space between the tyre and the suspension strut, which is necessary for the installation of traditional chains with internal elements.
König redefines the design of external snow chains with a more practical, compact and flexible solution: the K-Summit.
With the König K-Summit, all mounting and dismounting operations are performed exclusively on the outside of the tyre for better visibility and understanding of the process.
The mounting to the tyre is done by a specially developed adapter set, which are fixed to the head of the original studs of the vehicle. The fastening process is facilitated by the use of the K-Lock, König's proprietary spanner with integrated torque indicator, which informs the user when the ideal torque has been reached.
Tensioning is handled by an integrated central ratchet system, which makes for a surprisingly effortless process and ensures that the chain automatically reaches its ideal position while driving.
Once the K-Summit is attached to the tyre, no additional stop is required for re-tensioning: the optimal tension and centring of the chain on the tyre is achieved automatically while riding.
Thanks to its special design, the König K-Summit features the Level 0 Wheel-Shield system, which ensures the complete absence of contact points between the chain and the alloy wheel.
König K-Summit is the most flexible snow chain solution ever: thanks to the patented regulating elements, the cross-section length can be adjusted according to tyre size, allowing an even more flexible solution for different vehicles and tyre sizes.
König K-Summit is certified according to O-standard V5117, UNI 11313 and EN 16662-1 and thus meets all legal requirements for winter equipment.
