Why use a side ladder on the denfender instead of the standard stern ladders?

The stern ladders are very narrow, which is why there is no room for two feet next to each other. This makes the known rear ladders not particularly nice to walk on. In addition, the rear carriers for eg bicycles are often in the way. With the side ladder this is no problem!

The laterally embedded airline holes you can use to attach accessories to it.

The side ladder is made of high quality stainless steel and aluminum. It is light and strong enough to withstand the stresses and strains of your adventures.

The ladder is available for mounting on the airline rail or for mounting on the rain gutter.

Is the side ladder allowed?

Since side ladders, similar to the roof rack, can be dismantled with on-board tools and therefore do not have a permanent fixed connection to the vehicle, they are considered cargo. Cargo may protrude a maximum of 40 cm beyond the outer edge of the light emitting surfaces of the marker or tail lights. This side ladder is well below this limit.

Mounting on the rain gutter:
- Ladder is clamped to the top of the rain gutter and bolted to the center of the vehicle.

Mounting on the airline rail:
- Ladder is clamped to the top of the airline rail and bolted to the center of the vehicle.

The Airline rail set is also available from us. In this way, the matching side support system can also be mounted in addition to the ladder.
